These illustrations show a typical “before and after” situation where a damaged Crane telescope cylinder has been refurbished at WFE.
The cylinder was dismantled, the outer shell straightened, then honed to assure concentricity.
The cylinder has then been re-sealed, pressure tested and put back into service.
This entire process was achieved in 6 working days, a great saving in cost and expensive machinery downtime.
Some piston rods are beyond reclamation. The piston rod illustrated had developed a hydraulic systems fault thus causing the cylindrical rod to
implode.
WFE could not salvage this particular rod and had to manufacture new.
All new components required for cylinder repairs are manufactured in house
at WFE, this ensures the control of materials and manufacturing tolerances
are monitored clearly.
WFE have machining capacities to turn, hone, drill and weld cylinders of 12
metres in length, controlling all of this in our own factory enables the quickest
responce to customers needs.
WFE can arrange for cylinders to be collected from all around the UK and
Europe.
This replacement 12 metre shaft, ready for dispatch gets a final inspection.
